Kevin Owens was beaten at the hands of Roman Reigns and Jey Uso in Friday Night SmackDown this week, enough for the WWE to be reporting the injuries he sustained in that attack.
As usual, the promotion sounded as dramatic as possible (via WWE.com):
After the attack of Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Jey Uso at Friday Night SmackDown, Kevin Owens was taken to a local medical center, where he was diagnosed with a spinal contusion and injured kidneys.
Something about how dramatic the WWE sounds when they’re just saying that a fighter is hurt is always going to break me.
Owens continues to lose to Reigns in fights for the Universal title and WWE continues to reserve it even more. TLC, where he lost a game of Tables, Ladders and Chairs, seemed like a good place to end the rivalry, but it sure makes it look like he’ll get another shot at the crown.
