Kevin James reaction to ‘Kevin Can F ** k himself’ at AMC

Kevin James did not comment on the new AMC series Kevin can f ** k… so far.

It was first reported in November 2018 that AMC was under development in the dramatic drama, just months after CBS canceled the James sitcom Kevin can wait. Well publicized, Kevin can wait went through a major makeover between seasons 1 and 2 that saw original cast member Erinn Hayes let go. She was replaced by James’s ex King of queens to cost Leah Remini, which resulted in a sharp drop in audience and a quick cancellation of the series.

(Neither AMC nor the producers of Kevin can f ** k explicitly said the series is a riff on James’s sitcom.)

Kevin can f ** k, which is due to debut at AMC later this year, is told from the point of view of a sitcom wife (played by Schitt’s Creek scene stealer Annie Murphy) and alternates between the realism of one camera and the comedy of multiple cameras.

When asked about the title, James seemed genuinely pleased. “I think if they can use me to do their show, and it’s a great show, God bless them,” he said. “Good for them.”

Kevin can f ** k, which will consist of eight-hour episodes, was created by Valerie Armstrong (Lodge 49) and executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. Craig DiGregorio (Strident, workaholics) will serve as a showrunner.

James, however, can be seen alongside BridgertonStroma’s profile on Netflix’s The Crew, a new sitcom set in the world of NASCAR. All 10 episodes will be released on Monday, February 15; watch the trailer here.
