Kevin Hart’s New 1970 Dodge Carbon Fiber Charger Has 1,000 HP – Robb Report

Kevin Hart’s muscle car collection continues to grow. But while the latest addition looks like a 1970 Dodge Charger, what’s under the hood tells a different story.

That’s because the comedian’s new attraction was built to order by Speedkore. And because the Wisconsin-based tuner has yet to find a high-performance vehicle that it couldn’t make even more powerful, the “Hellraiser”, as it was dubbed, was equipped with a huge 426 Hemi engine.

This 7.0-liter box engine, which sold out promptly on its debut two years ago, is better known as “Hellephant”, according to Motor1.com. And for sure, it is a real beast, capable of delivering 1,000 jaw-dropping horses and 950 pounds of twist. The second generation Charger is already an iconic muscle car, but even its most powerful configuration, which featured a 7.2-liter V8 capable of producing 375 horsepower and 480 feet lbs of torque, is no match for this monster.

But the “Hellephant” engine is not the only 2020 update for the car. The bestial mill is coupled to a Demon specification ZF 8HP90 8-speed automatic transmission, which, we can assume, will offer significantly better performance than the original 3-speed automatic gearbox. The muscle car was also equipped with a front suspension of a Corvette C6 and a custom four-bar configuration with Penske shock absorbers in the back. Other interesting features include Brembo brakes and three-piece HRE wheels involved in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Although the car maintains the original Charger’s design and shape – there are some things you just don’t move – the body has been completely redone in exposed carbon fiber. It also features a darkened color scheme that gives the car a menacing and extremely cool vibe. The cabin with Gabe’s custom interiors features a safety cage, Recaro GT Sportster seats with 4-point Simpson Racing harness and a custom-made audio system.

Speedkore did not reveal a price for the custom tour, but it is fair to assume that it put Hart back in the six-figure range. In fact, a report earlier this week suggests that the star spent “several hundred thousand dollars” to completely renew the classic muscle car. Two words: It’s worth it.
