Kevin Hart allegedly defrauded by his personal shopper

Wasn’t that the plot of that Kristen Stewart movie?

Kevin Hart’s personal buyer, Dylan Syer, a Long Island City resident, was prosecuted in New York on Wednesday on charges of theft. Syer reportedly used credit cards belonging to Hart, 41, to finance a luxurious lifestyle that included Patek Philippe watches, Louis Vuitton handbags and a painting by Sam Friedman.

Queens County District Attorney Melinda Katz claims that Syer, 29, hired by Hart in 2015, started small with legitimate and authorized purchases for her client, before using Hart’s credit cards to funnel money into her personal accounts and buy items he then shipped via FedEx to his home and business. The alleged charges total about $ 1.2 million over two years.

Syer’s alleged treasure trove of illicit goods – including more than 20 collectible dolls from Bearbrick’s art world and Bieber’s beloved KAWS – is currently being hunted by prosecutors. He is back in court on February 17 and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

DA Katz thanked Hart for his cooperation in his press release; presumably, this will be your favorite legal interaction from February 2021.
