Kevin Durant was removed with tendon strain

Kevin Durant is scheduled to lose more time.

A game after returning from a season in the quarantine of COVID-19, the Brooklyn Nets star is sidelined due to a hamstring strain. The Nets announced on Sunday that Durant will lose at least two games with the injury. The Nets are scheduled to face Sacramento Kings on Monday and Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. A clash with the Los Angeles Lakers looms on Thursday.

It is unclear when or how Durant suffered the injury. After losing three games last week due to exposure to COVID-19, Durant returned to the Brooklyn team on Saturday for a ball against the Golden State Warriors.

Durant lost several games this season

Last week’s absence was the second time this season that Durant lost time due to the NBA’s COVID-19 protocol. Durant, who signed on to COVID-19 last March, also missed three games in January because of potential exposure to the coronavirus.

In total, Durant lost nine of Brooklyn’s 28 games, as the Nets started 16-12. Durant, who returned this season after an Achilles tendon injury that cost him the entire past season, showed his former form in the NBA when he was available, averaging 29 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists while kicking 52.4% of the ground and 43.4% of the 3-point range.
