Kevin Durant’s return to the Nets lasted a game.
Durant, who scored 20 points in Saturday’s Golden State victory after losing three games due to NBA health and safety protocols COVID-19, will not play for at least the next two nights in Sacramento and Phoenix due to a slight tendon strain left thigh, the team announced on Sunday.
Durant, 32, has the best average of 29.0 points per game in 19 games this season, having lost the entire past season after breaking his Achilles tendon in the 2019 NBA finals with the Warriors.
Saturday’s game was Durant’s first in the Bay Area since the injury and the first since he left the Warriors to sign a free agent contract with Brooklyn later that summer.
