Kevin Durant of Brooklyn Nets remains captain of the All-Star Game for the recruiting team

NEW YORK – Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets will still serve as captain of the All-Star, despite a hamstring injury that will prevent him from participating in the game.

Durant, alongside LeBron James, will draw up a list of selected All-Stars. The All-Star draft will air on TNT on March 4.

It is not yet clear whether Durant will go to Atlanta for the game on March 7 or not.

Durant lost the last seven Nets games due to a hamstring strain and was eliminated during the All-Star break. NBA commissioner Adam Silver named Domantas Sabonis as Durant’s replacement in the game. Jayson Tatum was promoted to an All-Star star in the absence of Durant.

An All-Star 11 times, Durant has averaged 29 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists for Brooklyn this season.
