A Kentucky man who appeared in a viral video promising to “take down all these traitors” while participating in the Capitol riot last week was arrested by the FBI. The FBI in Louisville announced the arrest of Damon Beckley late Saturday. Beckley was accused of illegal entry into a restricted building and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. His first appearance in court is scheduled for January 19. After Beckley made noise with his furious comments against Mike Pence and promised to “start a revolution” on Capitol Hill, he allegedly went into hiding. The local WDRB news station spoke to him days after the violence and reported that he emphasized that he only entered the Capitol to check on a friend and did not cause any destruction. He also allegedly deleted his Facebook and removed the SIM card from his phone, believing it would prevent authorities from tracking him.
