Kenny Omega returns to Impact for a long-winded promo

Kenny Omega is counting the days until the story is made when he wins Rich Swann’s Impact World Championship at Impact’s Rebellion PPV on April 24th. To fill the time before the big date, Omega strolled through the Impact Zone to deliver a long-winded promo.

Omega hit the ring with Don Callis at his side while the two men rambled about Omega’s greatness. The essence of the 12-minute segment continued to cast doubts in Swann’s mind about kicking out of the One Winged Angel. Although Swann has overcome so many challenges in his career, Callis believes that the only thing Swann cannot overcome is Angel Wings. No one has ever been expelled from this.

Callis also clarified that he will protect Omega’s legacy and greatness instead of protecting Impact. Omega is looking forward to adding two more belts (Impact and TNA titles) to his collection. At the Rebellion, Omega will make history.

A long monologue reiterating previous points of discussion is not exactly an exciting way to light the fire and the desire for anticipation by the Rebellion main event, but there were two things that caught my attention with interest.

First was the montage One Winged Angel. The highlight reel is very good.

Second was the camera zooming in on Omega’s boldest new pair of shoes. Just wonderful!

It is important to note that these shoes are really pointed.

When asked to comment, Swann was neither intimidated nor disturbed. He fought adversity all his life. Swann gave Omega props for placing him on the floor with a winged angel. He added the warning that the Good Brothers are involved to help Omega during the trio’s main event in Hard to kill. In all the singles encounters during that fight, Swann got the best out of Omega in all situations. Swann has tricks up his sleeve to defend himself against the devastating maneuver, but what Omega will do to defend himself from all other situations.

As for Tony Khan’s weekly paid commercial, Kenny Omega and Don Callis appeared to join Khan at the beginning of the show. The champion ended up leaving with the hint that there was a greater than zero chance of Matt Sydal beating him in the Dynamite to win a shot at the title.

Omega’s appearance on Impact got you excited for the Rebellion main event? Swann’s positive mindset did something to make you believe that he has a legitimate chance of success in Rebellion?
