Kenny Golladay, Chris Godwin decisions made

The Giants and Jets should try to add a high quality wide receiver in this off-season, and the market continues to evolve in that position.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have extensively informed Chris Godwin that he will be marked as a franchise, according to several reports, removing one of the main options from the free agent pool.

The Chicago Bears will also place the brand on star WR Allen Robinson, according to several reports.

Detroit Lions recipient Kenny Golladay must still be available, however, since it is not expected to be marked, according to the NFL network.

Godwin, 25, totaled 65 receptions for 840 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 regular season games last season, before adding another 16 catches of Tom Brady during the Bucs march for the Super Bowl title.

Godwin, who is expected to earn about $ 15.8 million if he signs the franchise’s brand, said last month that he expected the change and will likely accept it.

“I’m not going to put myself in a situation where I’m going to be miserable for a few years just for a few dollars more,” said Godwin. “I think my happiness is fundamental in all of this and part of that happiness is winning.”

Robinson is returning from consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with the Bears, doing so with a combination of Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles as a defender. The 27-year-old will return to Chicago after signing a $ 42 million 3-year contract in 2018.

Golladay, 27, appeared in just five games last season for Detroit due to a hip injury, ending with 20 receptions for 338 yards and two touchdowns. In the previous year, however, he averaged 18.3 yards per catch, with 65 receptions for 1,190 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Other free agent recipients in this off-season include JuJu Smith-Schuster, TY Hilton, Will Fuller, Marvin Jones and Corey Davis.
