Kelvin Harrison Jr. Cast of Baz Luhrmann’s ‘Elvis’ Project – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Kelvin Harrison Jr. got a supporting role in the next film by Elvis from director Baz Luhrmann and Warner Bros. The photo was shot again in September after star Tom Hanks hired COVID-19 in March, leading to a six-month shutdown.

Austin Butler was chosen to star as King of Rock and Roll, while Hanks plays Elvis’ manager, Colonel Tom. Harrison Jr., most recently seen in The photo, The high noteand Netflix The Chicago Trial 7, will play the legendary blues musician BB King, also known as The King of the Blues.

Written by Luhrmann and Craig Pearce, the film delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and the enigmatic Parker spanning more than 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolution of the cultural landscape and the loss of innocence in America. At the center of this journey is one of the most significant and influential people in Elvis’ life, Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).

Luhrmann is producing the film with Catherine Martin, Gail Berman, Patrick McCormick and Schuyler Weiss. Andrew Mittman serves as an executive producer.

Harrison Jr. is also expected to join Peter Dinklage in Cyrano, Musical adaptation of MGM for the cinema of the play Off-Broadway. Its representatives are Stride Management, WME and lawyer Nina Shaw.
