When interviewing Dr. Jill Biden on her talk show, Kelly Clarkson made it clear that she is a huge fan of the new first lady and her book Joey: the Joe Biden story, which the Texas native often referred to during the conversation. Clarkson is taking notes from Jill Biden on everything, including marriage, divorce, exercise and more – but that doesn’t mean she’s not adding her own talent, either. In a shuttle full of mentions of Clarkson’s ongoing divorce from distant husband Brandon Blackstock, with whom she most recently became involved in a legal issue over fraudulent administration fees, the singer’s reverence for the wedding that Jill and Joe Biden built was clear – how he felt that his own seven-year marriage didn’t match in comparison. In a last-minute joke about Jill’s favorite way of giving Joe Biden daily reminders, Clarkson suggested that at least Blackstock and POTUS had one thing in common: the two “got married”.
While walking on the lawn of the White House with the first doggos Major and Champ for a segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Clarkson asked Jill about a practice she had described in her book: “This is something I also loved, that whenever you have an important message for President Biden, you put it right in the mirror where he shaves” , she recalled, before asking about a particular message: “Have you ever put ‘remember you got married’?”

Jill Biden, of course, burst out laughing (and we hope Joe takes a picture when she inevitably tries). But amid reports that Clarkson is suing Blackstock for operating fraudulently as his manager, and that his ex-father-in-law sued her for even more administration fees first, the singer’s suggestion that he “married” is more than one little charged. They are fighting over whether Blackstock and his father illegally profited from Clarkson’s huge success as a pop star, with Blackstock and others arguing that they were underpaid for their role in their career.

Of course, it’s Kelly Clarkson, and we’re prejudiced – we think that anyone who married her would be getting married, and we sincerely agree that it wouldn’t hurt POTUS to see a reminder too (or Prince Harry, while we’re at the guy). We know that divorce is difficult for everyone, all the time, and lawsuits are not fun either, so we are proud of Kelly Clarkson Show host for putting such a good face on all of this. If this coup is the ugliest that exists between her and Blackstock (out of court, at least), we will be proud of Clarkson for maintaining her southern good manners.
