Kelly Clarkson revealed that some celebrities were “rude” and “mean” to her when she first competed in american idol… Except for Jennifer Love Hewitt.
In the Friday episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the talk show host thanked Hewitt for showing his kindness early in his career. Clarkson recalled how they met “at some kind of MTV Awards” – which would be the 2002 MTV Video Music Awards – just days before the end of the first season of american idol.
“You probably don’t remember that, but you stayed with me for a long time, almost 20 years now,” began Clarkson.
“You ran up to me… and people were really mean to us because we’re from a talent show and it was the first season. Like, everyone was so rude to us, like, on the carpet, on the show, ”she continued. “It was so bad. It was a horrible experience. “
Clarkson remembered being approached by Hewitt, who offered some kind of advice.
“You came to me, came running out of nowhere and said, ‘My God, I’m really rooting for you.’ You said to me, ‘Please keep those you love so close. It will end up being about some people in your life, unfortunately, but this business can be very difficult, ”recalls Clarkson.
“You just gave me this advice that was really kind at such an unpleasant time for me personally. So, thank you very much, ”she added. “It meant the world to me. You were so nice. “
Clarkson is probably laughing last now.
