Kellan Lutz and his wife Brittany announced the birth of their first child a year after they tragically lost a stillborn baby.
The couple welcomed a baby girl – named Ashtyn Lilly – and shared the news on Instagram on Friday, four days after Brittany’s delivery.
Kellan, 35, and Brittany, 32, posted the same image of three polaroids that showed them holding their newborn daughter in the hospital.

Along with the sweet snap, Brittany wrote: ‘She’s here !!!! Ashtyn Lilly Lutz. 2 • 22 • 21. The day she came into the world it was snowing, raining and freezing, but that night she was born and we woke up with the sun, the clear sky and the winter fading.
Referring to her stillborn son last year, Brittany continued: ‘It was so symbolic, considering that this time of last year was literally winter for our souls, only to find a year later with the brightest sun. She started a new season for us and we love her beyond understanding. ‘
She continued: ‘God redeems. It restores. He never leaves us with a broken heart, we just have to give Him the broken pieces and what does He transform them into? Wow.
Brittany also published the image in her Stories along with the caption ‘It’s a girl!’, After revealing that they were expecting a daughter.

The birth occurs a year after the couple started talking about the loss of the baby when they were six months pregnant.

They announced in September that they were pregnant with Ashtyn, sharing a sweet video on Instagram.
Lutz said: ‘We are pregnant again! This is real life … For those who don’t know, we are pregnant. Thank you all for being with us, praying for us, supporting us. We are very excited. ‘
Brittany added: ‘It was a surprise. You know, it was obviously a surprise to lose our daughter earlier this year. That was difficult, and it still is. There are still difficult times. ‘
