Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany told the “Fox News Rundown” podcast that President Joe Biden is not being held to the same standard by the White House press. McEnany said that, with a few exceptions, the questions asked to Biden represented a lower level than what President Trump faced in his combative sessions with reporters.

KAYLEIGH MCENANY: There was a bar too low for President Biden. There is no doubt about it. And I think the media is essentially saying that he passed that very low bar when, in fact, if you look at what he said, he didn’t pass that bar. You know, for example, on the issue of immigration, he said that the vast majority of those who come to the border are being rejected. We have an Axios report saying that, in fact, 87% of families are being admitted and having their cases tried in the country. So questions like that, which would not be so free in a Trump administration, would have been called a lie or simply overlooked in today’s mainstream media …
Some reporters showed themselves up to the occasion, Kristen Welker being one of them. She had a very good question about transparency. And so she followed up on that question and the question before her also from ABC kind of put President Biden in a difficult situation with regard to immigration.
But one thing I’d like to see more of is all the reporters who ask tough questions – on the contrary [CNN’s] Kaitlan Collins, who asked if he will run for reelection – but then comes with the accompaniments and you kind of miss the caustic and scathing accompaniment you had in the Trump era, which is a good thing, because I don’t think this is particularly useful to the American people. But it is a striking contrast between the two administrations.
