Kawhi Leonard (leg injury) on Sunday for the LA Clippers

LOS ANGELES – LA Clippers striker Kawhi Leonard was ruled out due to a left leg injury in Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Clippers started the first game in a row without their two stars. Leonard joined Paul George (swollen right thumb) on the sideline. George lost his fifth straight game due to injury.

Coach Ty Lue said Leonard suffered the injury at some point during the Clippers’ two-game trip to Minnesota and Chicago. Leonard scored 36 points in the victory over the Wolves and 33 points in the victory over the Bulls.

“I’m not sure when that happened,” said Lue before facing Cleveland. “Or when he’ll be back.”

Leonard had lost four previous games this season due to a tear in his mouth and when he had to enter health and safety protocols due to contact tracking.
