Katharine McPhee has enjoyed her life as a new mother.
The former American Idol student, 36, and her husband David Foster, 71, announced in February that they had received their first child together.
“It looks so natural,” the singer / actress told People magazine on Friday. “I had a very good baby; he has been so good. I am so in love!”
And when it comes to your post-pregnancy body, the star insisted that you are not stressing out about it.
“I thought I would have this pressure [to bounce back] but I’m very grateful and happy to have had a healthy baby and I felt really good emotionally and physically, “explained McPhee.” I’m so glad I still don’t have that crazy pressure to fit any jeans I have in my closet. “

“I don’t even think about them now!” McPhee continued. “In my daily life, I would have an event coming up or needing to work, and it’s great to take a break and be happy where I am.”
McPhee said motherhood also gave her a lot of time to enjoy her family, which is more important than wearing any pair of jeans.
“I wake up at 5 am with him and listen to his father’s piano album [“Eleven Words”] and we have our quiet time, “she said.” And at night, before I put him in his room, it’s just the three of us in bed. We took a lot of pictures! It’s very cute. “
Recently, McPhee made an appearance on “Today with Hoda and Jenna”, where he revealed the baby’s name: Rennie David Foster.

The couple met in 2006, when Katharine McPhee participated in the fifth season of ‘American Idol’.

“We chose Rennie because I had been in labor for some time, we didn’t have a chosen name,” she recalled. “We had a few names, but my husband was in a text string with his sisters and one of his sisters suggested an old surname.”
McPhee said the name belonged to Foster’s great-grandfather and great-uncle, so “it has a long history in your family”.
“My husband said, ‘Hi, Ren Foster’, so we said, ‘That’s a good name. It’s a strong name,'” said the star.
Things seem to be going well for the new mother, as she said that motherhood has been “the sweetest” and “the best” experience.

“I’m in heaven,” she added. “It has been really incredible.”
She also joked that her husband is going to “kill her” for revealing the baby’s name publicly.
McPhee and Foster, who also has five children from previous relationships, were married in a church in London in June 2019. The couple met in 2006, when McPhee was a competitor in the fifth season of “American Idol” and Foster was a mentor in the singing competition series.
Foster proposed to McPhee in July 2017 with a huge emerald diamond ring while the couple was on vacation in Italy.
