Lifetime Star Wars fan and action star Katee Sackhoff revealed how she got her live-action role from Bo-Katan Kryze in Season 2 of The Mandalorian through timely jokes.
“When I was a kid, I idolized male action stars because there weren’t many women in the ’80s,” shared the actor on Inside you with Michael Rosenbaum podcast. “We had Sigourney Weaver’s, Linda Hamilton and Lucy Lawless’, but also Princess Leia, who was smart, brave and beautiful and a capable, caring and very complete ball destroyer. Sackhoff added that he used to joke with his agent that she would have any role in Star Wars universe – no matter how small. “If they call me to be a rock in a Star Warss film, I will be a rock, just for being in this world “, said the actor.
When she was offered to give Bo-Katan a voice in Star Wars Clone Wars, Sackhoff accepted the role without hesitation. “A Mandalorian warrior? Before portraying Bo-Katan in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Sackhoff expressed the character in both Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Clone Wars animated series. But even after appearing in The Mandalorian, she is still pinching herself. “My mind is exploding because they didn’t just think about doing it,” she concluded. “But they believed me and left me.”
