Katee Sackhoff of Mandalorian played with the second season

Star Wars fan Katee Sackhoff revealed that she kind of expressed herself by reprising the role of Bo-Katan Kryze in Season 2 of The Mandalorian.

Lifetime Star Wars fan and action star Katee Sackhoff revealed how she got her live-action role from Bo-Katan Kryze in Season 2 of The Mandalorian through timely jokes.

“When I was a kid, I idolized male action stars because there weren’t many women in the ’80s,” shared the actor on Inside you with Michael Rosenbaum podcast. “We had Sigourney Weaver’s, Linda Hamilton and Lucy Lawless’, but also Princess Leia, who was smart, brave and beautiful and a capable, caring and very complete ball destroyer. She added:” So, since I was young, I loved Star Wars. “

Sackhoff added that he used to joke with his agent that she would have any role in Star Wars universe – no matter how small. “If they call me to be a rock in a Star Warss film, I will be a rock, just for being in this world “, said the actor.

When she was offered to give Bo-Katan a voice in Star Wars Clone Wars, Sackhoff accepted the role without hesitation. “A Mandalorian warrior? Um, hello!” she said. “I remember, several times while we were doing this, [Mandalorian executive producer Dave Filoni] and I joking, ‘Yanno, one day if that happens, it may exist in these worlds …’ ”

“I always played with [Dave] because I never thought it would happen, “she said to Rosenbaum.” Of course, they would reformulate it! They would hire Scarlett Johansson or something. “Sackhoff added,” But when Mandalorian went out and I saw him at Celebration, I made a joke about yanno Bo-Katan, wink, wink, poked, poked, ‘I’ve been playing characters like this for 15 years, buddy!’ “

However, things didn’t get real for Sackhoff until she met The Mandaloriancreator Jon Favreau. “It took me half the meeting to realize that he was really talking about me doing Bo-Katan,” she said. “I remember sitting in front of him, totally out of my body, and thinking to myself, ‘Is he? Oh, these are pictures of me on the wall! Oh, what’s going on?'” He offered her the role in the room without asking Sackhoff to audition for the role.

Before portraying Bo-Katan in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Sackhoff expressed the character in both Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Clone Wars animated series. But even after appearing in The Mandalorian, she is still pinching herself. “My mind is exploding because they didn’t just think about doing it,” she concluded. “But they believed me and left me.”

Created by Jon Favreau, The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito. Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Disney +.
