Kate Middleton was reportedly mortified by allegations that she made Meghan Markle cry before the former American actress’s royal wedding in 2018 with Prince Harry.
On March 7, CBS broadcast a two-hour interview that Markle, 39, and her husband, 36, did with Oprah Winfrey. During the televised meeting, the Duchess of Sussex cleared the air on an ongoing rumor that she allegedly caused the Duchess of Cambridge to shed tears.
The 39-year-old man told the media tycoon, 67, that “the reverse has happened.”
Markle claimed that the narrative that she and the Duchess of Cambridge, 39, had a long-standing rivalry stemming from Middleton’s crying at the wedding simply “did not happen.” Instead, Markle explained that a few days before the wedding, Middleton was upset about the florist dress that her daughter, Princess Charlotte, was supposed to wear.

“It made me cry and it really hurt my feelings,” explained Markle. “And I thought, in the context of everything that was going on in those days before the wedding, that it didn’t make sense not to be just doing what everyone else was doing, which was trying to support.”
On Monday, the real author and correspondent of Vanity Fair, Katie Nicholl, told OK! Magazine that Middleton allegedly did not take the televised statement well.
“These have been some very difficult days for Kate, but she showed up and was committed to her job and duties last week,” Nicholl told the channel. “People noticed that she looked dejected and subdued. Behind closed doors, she was sad, disappointed and hurt.”
“From what I heard, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the one that Meghan discussed,” continued Nicholl. “Kate felt it was all settled, so bringing it up again was mortifying. Kate is in no position to respond and Meghan and Harry know that.”

Nicholl had previously written a book on Middleton entitled “Kate: The Future Queen”, where she took an in-depth look at her real-life initiation.
“Kate never wanted any suggestion of a feud with Meghan to be published in the press, so it is very difficult for this circular story,” shared Nicholl. “Kate is so discreet and respects her personal life. You never hear about her falling out with anyone because she is very careful with how she treats others.
“Kate and [Prince] William feels that they were extremely receptive to Meghan and Harry. Any charges against the monarchy are charges against your family. It is painful and they feel disappointed. Obviously, they still love Harry and Meghan, but this interview pissed off the feathers. “
During the interview, Markle noted that the alleged rivalry ended almost as quickly as it started, thanks to an apology from Middleton.

“It was a very difficult wedding week,” explained Markle. “And she was upset about something, but she was the owner and apologized. And she brought me flowers and a note, apologizing. And she did what I would do if she knew I hurt someone, right, just to take responsibility for this. . “
Still, Markle hoped that palace aides would clear things up as the tabloids published the story. However, she would have been told several times that this would not be possible.

As for Middleton’s husband, Nicholl claimed that William, 38, was furious at the bomb that counted everything, which was attended by almost 50 million people worldwide.
“William is more than furious with his brother,” said Nicholl. “He, [Prince] Carlos and the queen talked about the crisis in the days after the interview on how to proceed. It is well documented that the brothers were taking steps to reconcile their once-close bond, but sources say that William felt that the interview with Oprah was the last straw. But despite their anger, the two want to resolve this feud. “
Thirty-six hours after the interview aired in the United States, Buckingham Palace issued a statement.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the extent of how challenging the past few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” said a palace statement provided to Fox News. “The issues raised, particularly those of race, are worrisome. Although some memories may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family in particular.”

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be very dear members of the family,” concluded the statement.
Representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made no comment when contacted by Fox News.
After Harry and Markle were married in May 2018 at Windsor Castle, the royal family seemed to welcome the Duchess of Sussex, a glamorous former TV star. The pair was seen as a new youthful face for the monarchy of an increasingly multicultural nation.
It didn’t take long for the fairy tale to unravel.
