Kate Middleton ‘mortified’ after Meghan said she made her cry

Kate Middleton was “mortified” by sister-in-law Meghan Markle’s statement that the Duchess of Cambridge made her cry – and it is not even clear that this is exactly what happened, said a royal expert.

Markle stated during her explosive TV session with Oprah Winfrey last week that Middleton has reduced her to tears over the florist dresses that Markle chose for her 2018 wedding with Prince Harry.

Middleton was horrified that Markle said publicly that she made her cry because Kate “never wanted any suggestion of a feud with Meghan to be publicized in the press,” royal author Katie Nicholl told OK! magazine.

“Kate is very discreet and respects her personal life. You never hear about her falling out with anyone because she is very careful with how she treats others, ”said Nicholl.

“So, for this circular story it is very difficult.

“Kate felt [the incident] it was all sorted out, so bringing it back in was mortifying.

To make matters worse, Meghan and Harry know that Middleton “is not in a position to respond” to the claim – which has not been publicly verified by anyone, added the Buckingham Palace expert.

“From what I heard, there are different versions of the bridesmaid story, not just the one that Meghan discussed,” said Nicholl.

Markle told Oprah that, although the stories in the press painted her as the villain of the time, saying that she made Middleton cry, the “reverse” happened.

The two duchesses had a feud over Markle’s florist dresses, “and it made me cry, and it really hurt my feelings,” said Meghan.

“It was a very difficult week for marriage and [Middleton] I was upset about something, but she owned it, apologized and brought me flowers and a note, ”added Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex and her husband Harry dropped other bombs, including that an unidentified royal made a racist comment to the prince asking if her son Archie’s skin would be dark, since Markle’s mother is black.

Harry also stated that his brother, Kate’s husband, Prince William, his father, Prince Charles and his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, are all “trapped” by their real lives and that their relationships with their brother and father are problematic.

Nicholl said that behind closed doors, Middleton “was sad, disappointed and hurt” by the couple’s comments.

“Kate and William think they were extremely receptive to Meghan and Harry. Any charges against the monarchy are charges against your family. It is painful and they feel disappointed ”, said the expert. “Obviously, they still love Harry and Meghan, but this interview pissed off the feathers.

“William is more than furious with his brother,” added Nicholl. “He, Charles and the Queen talked about the crisis in the days after the interview on how to proceed.

“It is well documented that the brothers were taking steps to reconcile their once-close bond, but sources said that William felt that the interview with Oprah was the last straw.”

Still, “despite the anger, the two want to resolve this rivalry,” she said.
