In the interview, the Skeleton Key star also reflected on what it was like to grow apart from her own father, actor and musician Bill Hudson, who she referred to as a ’41-year-old ‘problem.

‘I think the withdrawal, unfortunately, is quite common, and I think it’s important for people to talk about it,’ Kate shared.

‘Sometimes [people] we need a little talk and humor to take us to places where we can heal some of the wounds that have affected our family. ‘

“I have a beautiful mother,” the Fool’s Gold actress shared. ‘I have a stepfather who intervened and played a very, very big role in sharing what it is like to have a trusted father figure in our life, but that doesn’t detract from the fact that we didn’t know our father.’

Kate also opened up about what it is like during this strange period of confinement at home with her children, who range in age from babies to teenagers.

‘I want to be, like,’ Yes, it feels so good and we’re finding out … ‘, but the reality is that there are days that are great, and there are days that I have to remember to be grateful for,’ Hudson said.

‘I never thought of a million years that I would spend a year in one place,’ she also shared, referring to herself as a ‘gypsy’ who loved to travel as a professional actress.

‘When you have so many kids, sometimes you have those moments when you’re hiding in the bathroom and you say,’ Please, please, get me out of here! ‘

“I just remember that there are a lot of people out there who have lost their loved ones, and we just have to stay here for a while,” she added.
