Movie star Kate also mentioned her departure from her biological father Bill, 71, with whom Goldie de Cactus Flower, 75, was married from 1976 to 1982.

Detailing his strong bond with the award-winning actor, the media personality was enthusiastic: ‘I have a great family.

‘I have a beautiful mother. I have a stepfather who intervened and played a very important role, sharing what it is like to have a reliable father figure in our life. But that doesn’t take away the fact that we didn’t know our father.

The media personality also shed light on his tense relationship with Bill, who also shares Oliver, 44, with his first wife, Emily, 38, and Zachary, 34, with his second wife Cindy Williams, and Lalania, 14, with the former -girlfriend Caroline Graham.

Kate added, ‘I think as I kind of went through this process … I kind of look at my dad and I’m like,’ You know, love has never gone anywhere. It was always there, no matter what those complications were.

‘And the cure is … personal, and I think people sometimes just need to hear that they are not alone in this.’
