Kate Beckinsale continues to mourn the loss of her father, Richard Beckinsale, more than 40 years after his death.
The “Underworld” actress paid tribute to the popular British television star who died of a heart attack at her family’s home in 1979. He was 31 years old.
“March 19, 1979. And we were never the same again,” wrote Beckinsale, 47, in a shared Instagram post. Thank you to everyone who kept you alive in our hearts and on our lips. And love to all who miss a special and brilliant person. I would like to be with my mom today xxx. “

“It is so strange for a five-year-old to look out on the street and see people reading the newspaper and crying while you are crying and your mother is crying and your grandmother is crying,” said the “Serendipity” star. “Although it was the worst loss I have ever experienced, I was able to share it with people who genuinely, even if they didn’t know him, really seemed to love him.”
