A game after returning from almost a month away while battling COVID-19, Karl-Anthony Towns and the rest of the Timberwolves were being shot in the arena in Charlotte when the word hit him. Two Hornets players had already been scratched due to health and safety protocols and even coach James Borrego was not allowed to enter the arena until an hour before the report, while the team waited for the test results.

Moments before Borrego spoke to Charlotte’s media, he learned that a third player, striker PJ Washington, would not be available for the game. That was when Towns started to be “scared”, as he said. He went through hell and came back with this virus, and something just didn’t go right with him when he learned that the game was yet to be played.
