In the video, posted on Harrold’s Instagram page, the unidentified woman is seen urgently telling the hotel manager that the 14-year-old girl had taken her phone. As the teenager said, “This is my phone,” Harrold intervened, saying, “You don’t have to explain anything to her.”
While she frantically insisted that the phone was hers and asked to prove it was not, Harrold replied, “Are you kidding me? Do you think there is only one iPhone in the world? “
Harrold, a frequent contributor with D’Angelo, Robert Glasper, common and Maxwell, wrote that he and his son were leaving the Arlo Soho Hotel in Manhattan for breakfast when the woman appeared to say she “lost” her iPhone, accusing her son of having it, which Harrold said was “just ridiculous. “.

The hotel manager asked to see the teenager’s phone wallpaper, to which Harrold replied: “No! This is my son!”
According to Harrold, the woman had stayed at the hotel, but left on December 23. Although the video was just a minute, Harrold said in the post that the incident lasted more than five minutes.
“Now watch how the manager defends the lady who is not even a guest at the hotel, insisting and trying to use his managerial authority to force my son to show the phone to some lady,” posted Harrold. “He really empowered her !!! He didn’t even consider the fact that we were really the guests. “
In the video, she can be seen continually launching and catching up with Harrold while he protected his son from her. “She scratched me,” wrote Harrold, “she attacked and grabbed him. He is a child!!!”

Harrold posted that his iPhone was finally found when an Uber driver came to return the phone to the woman shortly after the incident ended.
“There are no excuses for her after this traumatic situation for my son, not for me,” said Harrold. “No apology from the establishment. It just — happens very often. You need to stop !!! “
Harrold, who won a Grammy in 2017 for his musical contributions to Don Cheadle’s Davis Miles biopic, Miles ahead, also used his music to address these damaging incidents throughout his career.
