It’s Christmas Day, that special holiday when we remember the 2019 release of Kanye West’s latest album, Jesus was born, with the Sunday Service Choir. It is also the day that we celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus, and if you forgot the last part, Kanye came back to remind you, with an entirely new surprise album titled Emmanuel. According to the project’s press release, the five-track EP “features a composition of a new sound, inspired by Latin and old music”.
West compound and executive production Emmanuel, which we would describe as atmospheric classical church music with some influences from Gregorian chant, which contrasts with the vibrant offerings of gospel Jesus was born. You can listen to the EP below or wherever you stream your music. Because if you weren’t planning on going to church at Christmas, Kanye and the Sunday Service Choir will be happy to bring the church to you.
