Kansas City Chiefs barber tests positive COVID-19 before Super Bowl: ESPN

The Kansas City Chiefs barber tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday, and his results returned while he cut the player’s hair.

The football team had 20 people, including players and employees, in a barbershop on Sunday to cut a week’s hair playing in the Super Bowl. During the consultations, the results of the barber’s coronavirus test were positive, sources said ESPN.

The support center Daniel Kilgore was in the barber chair when the test results were returned. The barber and Kilgore were wearing masks when Kilgore told the barber to finish the haircut, since he was already considered a close contact.

Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and Kilgore were placed on the coronavirus list, as both were considered close contacts with the barber. Both will still be able to play in the Super Bowl if the test is negative for the virus for five consecutive days.

The Super Bowl is set to take place on February 7, with Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers vying for the title.

Event organizers are allowing a limited number of fans, totaling around 25,000 due to the pandemic, with the CDC director telling fans not to cheer or shout too much as a precaution.

All players, coaches and support staff are being tested for COVID-19 twice a day before the championship game.
