Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, were grilled by Jane Pauley on Sunday Morning about his crush on Converse Chucks. She used them a lot during the campaign and Jane seemed genuinely disappointed that Kamala had chosen something more formal for the interview.
Jane wanted to know when it became a hit, and Harris said it wasn’t just something she started using in the campaign or, by the way, on the cover of Vogue.
She explained that Chucks has always been a part of her life. Harris says he loves them because they are super comfortable.
Then Doug intervened, saying that Chucks is a marker of who she is, adding that when they first met Kamala it was all about Chucks and jeans.
But then, Doug had a small problem in suggesting that Kamala had cabinets full of Chucks. The Veep-Chosen ended this. Not Imelda Marcos for her!!!
Doug recently started his official Twitter account as the Second Gentleman.
In fact … they met at a blind date and later got married in 2014. Doug broke all the rules after meeting her, calling the next day and offering her availability for future meetings.
