Kakao M explained why all the music distributed through them was unavailable through Spotify.
The company explained: “KakaoM has an agreement with Spotify to distribute music abroad. We are currently negotiating our contract with them for Korea, but we were notified of the termination of our contract for all other countries on February 28th. We ask to renew the contract. However, Spotify said that contracts from Korea and abroad should be negotiated simultaneously, so the service abroad is currently disabled. We are still talking about distributions.“
KakaoM manages several artists, such as UI, The Boyz, Desire, SF9, STAR, and much more. However, it looks like the service will be back on track later.
