Jenni Farley, also known as JWoww, is the latest celebrity to get real about makeup and beauty filters online.

The “Jersey Shore” star took to Instagram on Sunday with a selfie side by side. The left part has not been edited, according to Farley, and the show has no makeup. The right side of the photo, on the other hand, was changed using a photo editing app, giving Farley the look of a totally glamorous makeup.

“Lying here bored and saw this app … so I said ‘why not?’ “WTF. I prefer to be old and ugly 😭😭😭 but seriously, don’t do that shit with your photos … love yourself.

While some people applauded the TV star’s post criticizing photo editing apps, others said she was hypocritical, considering she talked about adopting cosmetic procedures that alter her natural appearance, including botox, and posted other photos that seem to have an airbrush effect.

Farley said in a comment that she uses “bright lights” and does not edit her photos because she is “very lazy”.

When another Instagram user said that the edited photo only added makeup to Farley’s appearance, the TV star said it actually made his face “all baby smooth with a sparkle of ring light”.

Farley also seemed to recognize that there was more to his appearance than makeup and bright lights.

An Instagram user commented on the reality show star’s post, saying, “True love, but you have infinite money for Medspa and injections. Many of your followers don’t … It makes a difference in the #nofilter photos.”

“You are not wrong about that,” Farley wrote in reply.

In a recent interview with Insider, cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Azadeh Shirazi argued that the glowing skin that celebrities can show in their social media posts is often the result of “too much glamor”, but “not too much science”.

As Farley acknowledged through an Instagram comment in his latest post, Shirazi said that celebrities often benefit from “contours, makeup and lighting tricks and access to the best medical professionals”.
