Juventus vs Porto player notes: Ronaldo and Pirlo fall from the Champions League in the round of 16.

Porto took a major turnaround in the Champions League on Tuesday, eliminating Juventus because of away goals in Italy. The Portuguese came into play with a 2-1 advantage after the first leg. Juventus won 2-1 in regulation in the second leg, forcing extra time against underdogs who were under 10 players.

But Sergio Oliveira gave victory to a set-piece goal in overtime, and a goal even later by Juventus’s Adrien Rabiot was not enough to change the result. Let’s take a look at some player ratings for today’s game.

Juventus player ratings

Wojciech Szczesny
He made some really important defenses with the fight of his defenders. I couldn’t do anything on the penalty spot. He positioned himself well until he didn’t. He really broke the defense of the decisive goal in the rebates.
Rating: 4

Alex Sandro
He recovered the ball very well, intervened just in time to intercept and was a very confident player. He didn’t have to deal with many one-on-one, but he was sharp and clean.
Rating: 6

Leonardo Bonucci
It left after 75 minutes. It seemed too slow a step and had more moments in attack than in defense. I tried too hard when I was on the attack.
Rating: 5

Merih Demiral
A silly penalty to grant, although it could have been a little severe. But it was a stupid and expensive challenge. Other than that, he was fine, but a little out of position. He fought in the air too.
Rating: 5

Juan Cuadrado
The second best player of Juve. Excited as can be, he made some lovely crosses and hit the post late. He created 12 chances in the night.
Rating: 7

Arthur
His pass was exceptional because of his accuracy, but it has never been more threatening. Still, he managed the middle well and kept the ball at a good pace.
Rating: 6

Adrien Rabiot
The Frenchman created some chances and hit the ball. He also had a decent look on the board. His head goal was fantastic, but when he needed to be more precise, it was not.
Rating: 6

Federico Chiesa
The only reason Juve stayed in this draw. Three goals in two hands, including two in this one, one of which was absolutely fantastic. The best player on the team.
Rating: 8

Aaron Ramsey
Very little offered. At times it seemed out of sync and his passing was unsuccessful. He created a chance and had a few, but it never seemed like a big threat.
Rating: 4

Cristiano Ronaldo
It was very well bottled. I had five photos and some of them were decent looking. I don’t understand why he is so late when it is needed in the box.
Rating: 4

Alvaro Morata
He wasted his team’s best chance in the first half, missing a header just in front of the goal. It was a great save from the goalkeeper, but he really should have done better. I never recovered from that.
Rating: 3

Mattijs de Ligt (sub, Bonucci, 75 ‘)
He returned from a calf injury and had some decent moments in defense off the bench.
Rating: 5

Weston McKennie (substitute, Ramsey, 75 ‘)
It brought some energy and helped to lengthen the defense a little with his runs. He also had some good shots. A positive performance outside the bank.
Rating: 6

Federico Bernardeschi (sub, Chiesa, 102 ‘)
He created just three chances in 18 minutes, getting an assist in Rabiot’s header. Another big impact outside the bank.
Rating: 7

Dejan Kulusevski (substitute, Arthur, 102 ‘)
The Swede left the bank and had good chances, hitting both. He tried to do a lot and would have done better by throwing a ball in the face of the goal. You need more experience.
Rating: 5

Manager – Andrea Pirlo
It won’t be a shock if he gets fired after that. Juve are 10 points behind Serie A and outside Europe. Juve coaches were fired for less.
Rating: 2

Porto player ratings

Agustín Marchesin
Good positioning and great defenses with other good moments during the first half, he was placed in difficult positions with Porto at a disadvantage. He had a great defense in extra time, despite conceding a goal.
Rating: 6.5

Wilson Manafa
Strong in the flank and recovered when necessary and supplied in the attack, it went well with Corona.
Rating: 6

Chancel Mbemba
Calm down with the ball when needed and had a good positioning throughout the first half; fought in the second half.
Rating: 6

Pepe
He did well in captaining the team through another initial advantage, he had an ugly cut in the eyes in the first half, but remained constant throughout the game.
Rating: 6.5

Zaidu Sanusi
He did well in his position by the end line until the end of the match, he fought in the second half and was suspended on 71 minutes.
Rating: 5.5

Jesus Corona
He was one of the most active midfielders in Porto today, he did well to hinder Juventus with the ball at the same time that he was involved in the construction of the attack.
Rating: 7

Matt Uribe
He was a physicist against Juventus during the first half, he did well to close space, but he fought under pressure during the second half.
Rating: 6.5

Sergio Oliveira
He looked a lot at Porto, converted the penalty for Porto’s first goal, covered a lot of space in the second half and scored the winning goal.
Rating: 8

Otavio
Brought from the opening whistle, he faced Cuadrado, covered a lot of ground defending and entering the attack, was finished in the 62nd minute.
Rating: 6.5

Moussa Marega
Good movement in and out of Porto’s ball in the first half, and well covered defensively in the second half.
Rating: 6.5

Mehdi Taremi
He put his team in a bad position when advancing in the second half after a silly play when kicking the ball after the whistle. Expelled with a red card after 54 minutes.
Rating: 5

Malang Sarr (sub, Otavio, 62 ‘)
He replaced Otavio in the 62nd minute to help defensive coverage of FC Porto after a single player crash.
Rating: 5.5

Luis Diaz (substitute, Sanusi, 71 ‘)
He switched to Zaidu in the 71st minute in an attempt to help defend Porto.
Rating: 6

Marko Grujic (sub, Uribe, 90 ‘)
Submitted at the end of the downtime to end the regulation.
Classification: N / A

Toni Martinez (sub, Marega, 106 ‘)
Replaced by Marenga in the second overtime.
Classification: N / A

Diogo Liete (sub, Corona, 118 ‘)
Replaced by Corona in additions in the second extension.
Classification: N / A

Mamadou Loum (sub, Oliveira, 118 ‘)
Replaced by Oliviera in the additions in the second extension.
Classification: N / A

Manager – Sergio Conceicao
He did his best starting XI for Porto, but the team left in the second half and was briefly crushed by Juventus. His team has remained afloat, however, and has achieved the biggest shock of the tournament so far.
