Juventus boss makes decision to transfer Cristiano Ronaldo amid links with Man Utd

Juventus football chief Fabio Paratici has declared that Cristiano Ronaldo is going nowhere and will see the rest of his contract in Turin.

Ronaldo’s future in Juve was plunged into uncertainty as the Italian giant’s Champions League crashed into the round of 16 earlier this month.

The 36-year-old has scored at a prolific pace since his £ 99 million arrival at Real Madrid in 2018 and has won consecutive Serie A titles.

But Ronaldo’s search for the sixth Champions League title was unsuccessful with Juventus and he was linked to a transfer from the Allianz Stadium this summer, a year before the end of his contract.

Former clubs Manchester United and Real Madrid have been singled out as potential destinations for Ronaldo, while Paris Saint-Germain have long been linked to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

It seems unlikely that Ronaldo will sign an extension to his current contract and Juventus faces the decision to either dismiss him for a fee this summer or let him go without charge next year.

Paratici says a final verdict has been reached, saying Sky Sport Italia : “We decided to keep Cristiano Ronaldo. He is the best player in the world and will stay with us.”

Despite Paratici’s statement, there was little reason for applause at Juventus, who suffered a 1-0 loss at home to Benevento on Sunday afternoon.

The result leaves them 10 points behind the leader of the Inter Milan league and the Serie A title looks set to come out of Juve’s clutches, ending his nine-year stranglehold at the Scudetto.

Andrea Pirlo was appointed as coach only last summer, but he is under immense pressure after a sub-average season.

“We had to play a better game than this one,” said the Italy legend. “The goal was to win by playing better, but we had a bad day from all points of view.

“I will continue to work, the club will decide [on my future] at the end of the season “
