Justin Timberlake talks about being “strangely private” about his kids

Justin can relate to that too, having played Branch in the animated film Trolls. He laughs, “Yes, we have this same thing where kids at school with my five year old son are like, ‘Your dad is Branch”.

“For guys like us, you know, the hope is that we will continue to instill in them that we have really fun jobs, but we are not who we are,” continues Justin. “Hopefully in the future, so it will have more weight, I think.”

But Dax noted that it will be a struggle for his children, no matter what, because even his best attempts to raise them as normal children will not diminish the privilege they will have. He said: “They will have this strange challenge of being privileged, which seems bizarre that it is a challenge, but it will be their thing.”

Both Dax and Justin confessed that they fought against privilege too, with the singer sharing that he “became skilled in the art of self-deprecation”.

Justin says he often makes fun of himself because it makes others laugh, especially on shows like Saturday Night Live, but you know it can sound like “false humility”.
