Justin Bieber spoke openly on Saturday about his 2014 DUI arrest, telling fans how much he has evolved since then.
“Today, 7 years ago, I was arrested, it was not my best moment”, the 26-year-old pop star started on Instagram, posting a photo of himself in handcuffs.
“I am not proud of where I was in my life. I was hurt, unhappy, confused, angry, cheated, misunderstood and angry with God. I also used a lot of leather for someone in Miami, ”Bieber continued.
In January 2014, Bieber was arrested in Miami after allegedly competing with a yellow Lamborghini under the influence. In August of that year, Bieber agreed to plead misdemeanor by driving carelessly and resisting arrest without charges of violence. The singer “Lonely” also agreed to take an anger management course and make a $ 50,000 donation to charity.
Bieber added on Saturday that he relied on faith amid difficult times.
“All of this to say that God has brought me a long way. From then until now I realized something … God was as close to me then as he is now, ”wrote Bieber.
“My encouragement to you is to ‘let your past be a reminder of how far God has brought you. Don’t let shame ruin your ‘today’, let Jesus’ forgiveness take over and watch your life flourish in everything that God planned you to be. I LOVE YOU, WITH ALL MY HEART, ”continued the singer.
