The black and white images, first revealed by Vanity Fair, but later posted on Twitter by the film’s official account, show a Joker with heavy white makeup, blurred eyes and lips and long, greasy hair. The big difference, however, is that there is not a single tattoo in sight. Yes, the much debated ‘Damaged’ forehead design is gone. The white jumpsuit and disguise if his arm and hand tattoos remain, however.
We had already heard that Joker would look “tired of the road” in the new version of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and this version of the character is certainly that. Previously, we had received a very blurry photo of Jared Let’s’s new look on Twitter, and at that time we imagined that the white outfit could be a hospital gown or some type of straight jacket / outfit from the institution. Now we can see that it is a surgical gown and that a mask is hanging around his neck. Snyder told Vanity Fair that this is “probably” a remnant of his escape into the jungle.
Snyder also revealed how Joker influences the story of the film, so if you would like to stay in the dark to see Snyder’s version of the Justice League, you might want to turn your back now. But if you are ready to spoilers, get them in the next paragraph.Joker will appear in a new sequence set on a ruined Earth after Darkseid invaded the planet. This is a vision experienced by Bruce Wayne as a warning of what will happen if the Justice League fails to stop Darkseid’s plans. Of course, Batman’s iconic nemesis is alive and well in this terrible future nightmare.
“The cool thing about the scene is that the Joker is talking directly to Batman about Batman,” Snyder told Vanity Fair. “It’s the Joker analyzing Batman about who he is and what he is. That’s what I also felt the fans deserved from DC Universe. That is, Jared Leto Joker and Ben Affleck Batman, they never really met. It didn’t seem cool to me that we had made it all the way through this incarnation of Batman and Joker without seeing them coming together. “
Batman and the Joker have never faced each other in the current DCEU films, but in Batman v Superman we saw that the two definitely have history. Snyder suggests that this appearance will address the death of Robin, whose armor we saw in the Batcave, covered with the Joker’s provocative graffiti.
