Since news of Larry King’s death was released on Saturday, fans have been revisiting some of the most memorable interview clips from the 87-year-old singer’s broadcasting career of more than 60 years, including a 25-year stretch as a presenter. from CNN Larry King Live. One clip in particular has drawn a lot of attention: a 2007 interview with Jerry Seinfeld in which the comedian, there to promote his animated film Bee Movie, seemed confused by King’s suggestion that his hit show Seinfeld may have been canceled. “You gave up, right?” King asked. “You canceled them, they didn’t cancel you.”
“Aren’t you aware of that?” Seinfeld replied, while King stood his ground. “Do you think I was canceled? Do you have the impression that I was canceled? I thought it was well documented. Is it still CNN?
Seinfeld continued to joke, “[When] I went off the air, it was the number one television show, Larry. You know who I am?”
“Jewish. Brooklyn, ”King teased in response.
While his speech against King again circulated in the hours after King’s death, Seinfeld turned to social media to pay tribute and clarify everything. According to the former sitcom star, it was all good fun.
“The ‘canceled’ part was just me having fun with your little mistake,” wrote Seinfeld. “Nothing more. Or less.”
He added that he will “miss” the veteran broadcaster.

Seinfeld is not the only star on his’ 90s sitcom that seemed to hit King head-on in the middle of the interview. A 2013 interview with former castmate Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who defended herself against the claim that she had a “man’s name”, resurfaced last month.
Meanwhile, Larry King’s three sons – Larry Jr., Cannon and Chance – issued a statement expressing their disgust at the death of the veteran TV presenter. King’s son Andy and daughter Chaia died last summer, less than a month apart.
“We are heartbroken by the death of our father and, together with our family, we mourn his death,” says the statement. “The world knew Larry King as a great announcer and interviewer, but for us he was a ‘father’. He was the man who had a loving obsession with our daily schedules and well-being, and who was immensely proud of our accomplishments – big, small, or imagined. And despite everything, we knew without a doubt in the world that he loved us more than life itself. He was an incredible father and fiercely loyal to the lucky enough to call him a friend. We will miss you every day of our lives. “
They went on to thank those who shared their father’s memories and directed donations to the American Heart Association and the Beverly Hills Fire Department EMS.
