The seventh episode of WandaVision hit Disney + on Friday and paid tribute to several series from the years 2010. The episode saw tributes to The office and Happy endings, but the most used program format was Modern Family. The mockumentary style of WandaVision“Breaking the Fourth Wall” was very similar to the ABC sitcom, which aired from 2009 to 2020. In fact, Modern FamilyJulie Bowen (Claire Dunphy) took to Instagram this week to praise WandaVision and celebrate a year since Modern Family packed production.
“One year after the day since we broke up Modern Family, and tonight we were part of WandaVision. They paid tribute to I love Lucy, Illustration, and The Brady Bunch among others … Seeing our show as a ‘classic’ through the eyes of an incredibly innovative Marvel show left me speechless. During the last episode of WandaVision, Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda Maximoff) channeled Bowen’s character more than anyone else in Modern Family. In fact, some fans used Twitter to praise Olsen for capturing Claire Dunphy so well. You can check out some fan tweets below:

WandaVisionKat Dennings (Darcy Lewis) recently spoke to Extra TV and explained how she was amazed by the program’s sitcom premise. In the interview, Dennings revealed that her first meeting for the series was in “a very secret conference room” and she had to sign many NDAs before entering. She added that the walls were “covered with sitcom references” as well as comic books.
“I was like, ‘How are you going to do this? This is crazy. This concept, I had never heard of it before. ‘ Sure, they did incredibly well, but it’s hard to explain. “
