JUCO WR Qua Davis signs with Ole Miss on FSU and South Carolina

After signing with a trio of recipients responsible for the game on Early Signing Day, Lane Kiffin and his team were not finished yet. Now, they have added a fourth signatory to the WRU, signing the Itawamba Community College recipient, Qua Davis. The Biggersville, Mississippi native chose the Rebels over offers from the state of Florida and South Carolina.

The MACCC North Division First Team selection completed its 2020 campaign with 34 receptions, 583 yards and seven touchdowns in just five games, surpassing the 100 yard mark in all matches, except one for the Indians.

Davis joins a recharged reception room and then some, adding four stars Bralon Brown and three stars Brandon Buckhaulter and JJ Henry.

How does it fit?

At six feet tall and 110 pounds, Davis is someone who can get to Oxford and start running from the point of view of size and skill. It is part of a new wave of slot receivers that is the size of an outside guy, but can maneuver in and out of the cuts and go north and south with the football in hand. It was used in the ICC with internal screens and double movements, obtaining separation in the field and causing a lot of damage after capture.

Elijah Moore will leave after the 2020 season, so receiver coach Derrick Nix must replace the most productive receiver in the program’s history. Davis is someone who can certainly help to complement the results that are emerging. I anticipate that he will arrive in January and begin work to try to solve the problem of the attack by Kiffin and Jeff Lebby.
