Journalists and TV presenters from across the spectrum are paying tribute to the late broadcast legend Larry King, who died on Saturday at the age of 87.
“I lost a dear friend and mentor. Truly an American treasure. Rest in peace, Larry King,” tweeted TV personality Ryan Seacrest.
“Larry King was a broadcast giant and a master of celebrity interview / TV statesman. His name is synonymous with CNN and he was vital to the rise of the network. EVERYONE wanted to be on Larry King Live. May he rest in peace,” CNN’s chief international anchor, Christiane Amanpour, wrote.
“Larry King was a radio and TV legend with an insatiable curiosity about people and a real sense of humor. He could get anyone talking, from Hollywood stars to the corner guy. British journalist Piers Morgan, who replaced King’s program on CNN, paid an ironic tribute, alluding to their icy relationship.

King died Saturday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ora Media – the studio and network he co-founded – said in a statement. He was 87 years old.
No cause of death was reported, but he was hospitalized with a COVID-19 infection, according to several media reports.
