This is a tremendous loss in many ways. Jonas Neubauer was one of the greatest classic Tetris players of all time in skill, spirit and kindness.

In his interview with Vice, Neubauer compared his playing style to that of a jazz pianist, in the sense that he could be quite chaotic and that he always improvised instead of following a plan. In addition to participating in the Classic Tetris World Championship, Neubauer has also been broadcasting on Twitch under the name NubbinsGoody in recent years. Although he obviously transmitted a lot Tetris games, he also made videos with other games, like Last of us 2 and even Dungeons and Dragons.
The Classic Tetris World Championship website posted a statement reminding Neubauer as a person and as a legend in the community. Includes a clip from his last match in the 2020 tournament, in which he played against Jacob “Huffulufugus” Huff.
