Jon Jones scolds UFC Vegas 20 heavyweights after a lackluster fight, Francis Ngannou responds

Jon Jones didn’t really like a five-round main event between Ciryl Gane and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

As he usually does after UFC events, the former light heavyweight champion took to Twitter to give his opinion on the result. But this time, he scolded the fighters in the heavyweight division that he will soon enter, giving the thumbs down to Gane and Rozenstruik after the five-round duel on Saturday.

Jones’ heavyweight debut has yet to be confirmed, but UFC President Dana White said the former champion will have the winner of the UFC 260 title fight between champion Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou. The heavyweight fight is a rematch of a fight won by Miocic in the decision to give Ngannou his first UFC loss.

The physical transformation of “Bones” was apparent through posts on social networks showing the former champion lifting weights and training. Jones recently showed some movements in the cage and boasted that it moves “very well for a fat boy”.

There was a fun fighter with Jones’ jab on Saturday night – Ngannou, who previously got angry at the suggestion that the former champion could steal his place on the line before White clarified that he would have the next shot at the title.

Ngannou did not recover immediately from his loss to Miocic, losing a lackluster decision against Derrick Lewis. But he subsequently fell into a tear, knocking out four consecutive opponents to secure another golden chance. Most recently, he stopped Rozenstruik in 20 seconds with a flurry of punches.

For Rozenstruik, the loss to Gane was his second loss in the octagon and further delayed the title dispute. Gane’s victory, however, also did not present a strong case for an impending title dispute.

Jones made a point of pointing this out.
