This is not the kind of juice controversy we are used to.
Former “Dance Moms” student and YouTube star JoJo Siwa, 17, was put on the defensive again because of criticism of his new Nickelodeon board game for kids, “JoJo’s Juice”.
The game contains questions like “Have you ever stepped on someone naked or has someone entered you?” or “Have you ever left home without underwear (swimsuit doesn’t count)?” what some considered to be problematic tips for children.
Siwa, who was previously forced to deny that she included a black-faced child in a circus-themed video, addressed the controversy in a video response, wearing one of her usual eye-catching costumes.
“I was informed by my fans and followers on TikTok that my name and image were used to promote this board game with really inappropriate content,” began Siwa.
“When companies make these games, they don’t control every aspect for me, so I had no idea what kinds of questions were on those playing cards,” she continued. “Now, when I first saw this, I was really upset at how rude these questions were and so I immediately caught Nickelodeon’s attention.”
She added: “And since then, they have been working to get this game [stopped from] being made and also removed from all shelves wherever it is being sold. I hope everyone knows that I would never, ever approve or agree to be associated with this game if I had seen these cards before they started selling it. “
She ends things by thanking the fans for bringing the matter to their attention and, once again, the Republic is safe.
