John Wolford is the Rams’ starting quarterback for Sunday’s big game against the Cardinals.

Rams coach Sean McVay confirmed tonight that Wolford will make his Sunday debut in the place of Jared Goff, whose broken thumb will prevent him from playing on Sunday.

McVay seemed optimistic that Goff could return to the playoffs – if the Rams make it to the playoffs, which will not happen if they lose to the Cardinals and the Bears beat the Packers.

Bryce Perkins is on the Rams’ training team and is currently the team’s only healthy quarterback besides Wolford. Blake Bortles, who is currently on the Broncos ‘training team, will receive a spot on the Rams’ active roster, McVay confirmed. Bortles spent the last season with Rams, so he already knows the attack.

Wolford never played in a regular NFL season game, but he spent two years with the Rams, last year in the training squad and this year in the active squad, and now he will have a chance to show what he can do in a big game.
