If there are two things you can expect to see a lot in the Super Bowl commercials, it is celebrities and nostalgia. And the latest Scotts & Miracle-Gro Super Bowl ad featuring John Travolta and his daughter, Ella Travolta, making dance moves of Grease it is really what football spots are about. Because of the product, the commercial shows the father and daughter of 20 years enjoying the yard and, as a bonus, doing GreaseThematic TikTok dances.
In addition to the father and daughter duo, the commercial also features a TV presenter Martha Stewart, Office Star Leslie David Bakeractor Carl Weathers, NASCAR driver Kyle Buschand instructor Peloton Emma Lovewell. When Stewart takes the Grease dance star, she says, “He still goes!”

In John and Ella’s part of the Scotts & Miracle-Gro commercial, former Danny Zuko sets up a smartphone to film him and Ella dancing, and they start doing some “Born to Hand Jive” moves before starting other dances. Instead of the song from the movie, they sang “Sunday Best” by Surfaces. Baker says to them, “Hey, Travoltas! Don’t tik-ing and tok-ing on my grass!” (You can watch the full announcement here.)

Real life couple Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis joined for an ad for Cheetos, which also features the musician Sausage. Shows Kutcher repeatedly catching Kunis stealing his Cheetos as she repeats a phrase from Shaggy’s famous song: “It wasn’t me.” In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Kunis shared that she and Kutcher took the opportunity to do the commercial for a very particular reason. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey brought back his Wayne and Garth characters from Saturday Night Live and the Wayne’s World films for an Uber Eats commercial. The teaser for a complete commercial to come shows Wayne and Garth joking about how bad the year 2020 was and mocking the fact that they are not legally allowed to say the Super Bowl.

This Michelob Ultra commercial features tons of athletes, including tennis players Serena Williams, NBA player Anthony Davis, retired NFL quarterback Peyton Manningand soccer champion Alex Morgan. Instead of showing them practicing their sport, the commercial focuses on time outside the courts, having a beer and hanging out with friends.

The premise of this Amazon Alexa ad is that a woman who works at Amazon admires the device and says, “I literally couldn’t imagine a more beautiful container for Alexa to be in.” In fact, she could. The rest of the commercial shows his actor imagining Michael B. Jordan like an Amazon Alexa, who can do things like tell her how many tablespoons a cup has and dim the lights in your home.
