John Stamos regrets not seeing his son during the quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19

John Stamos is devastated to have to isolate himself from his son due to exposure to the coronavirus.

The 57-year-old heartthrob took to Twitter to lament his and his son’s disappointment about this time apart, and beg people to ‘follow the rules’ to be safe, in a series of tweets on Friday.

Stamos was forced to quarantine away from his two-year-old son Billy, who he shares with his wife Caitlin McHugh, 34, after being exposed to the virus on set.

“My son went to bed last night crying and woke up crying because he can’t be with his father,” he said in a tweet. ‘I am grateful to have a job, it is a privilege right now.’

He continued: ‘I was exposed to the virus for the third time and I have to isolate it again for another 10 days!’

The Full House star also said that his job is to ‘do what they can to keep us safe’, but with the virus spreading across the country, sometimes it is not enough.

In an appeal to his followers, John wrote: ‘But folks, please follow the rules – your actions affect far more lives than just your own. Thank you’

‘Stay safe!!! You poor thing 🙁 It is so difficult for children to understand ‘, wrote a fan.

Another added: ‘ohhh I am so sorry, it is so difficult for the children, they have been so brave, copying all these new rules and changes in their lives. I hope all is well for you, a big hug from my boy Luca to Billy ‘

It is unclear what project the sitcom actor is currently working on, where he was exposed to the coronavirus for the third time.

His reprisal to Uncle Jesse at Fuller House is over and his next Disney + series, Big Shot, is in post-production.

In Big Shot, Stamos will play Marvy Korn, a temperamental college basketball coach who is fired from his job. In the dramatic comedy, Korn will take on a teaching and technical role at an ‘elite private school just for girls’.

‘John is absolutely perfect for this role and we are thrilled that he brings his incredible talent and heart to this project,’ said Agnes Chu, SVP Content at Disney + in 2019.

This week, Stamos joined a legion of celebrities in honor of the late comedy legend Cloris Leachman, who died at the age of 94.

The actor made a point of honoring Leachman’s undeniable legacy by sharing a hilarious clip of her on Bob Saget’s Comedy Central Roast in 2008.

‘I’m not here to bake Bob Saget,’ said Cloris as he took the stage for his part of the show, before admitting, ‘I’m here to f ** k John Stamos.’

The camera panned to Stamos in the crowd, who showed his megawatt smile as he laughed at the joke.

‘I loved her! #RIP #clorisleachman ‘, he wrote in an Instagram post.

Leachman died of natural causes on Tuesday, January 26.
