John Krasinski started the first Saturday Night Live 2021 trying to overcome its reputation as The officeit’s Jim.
Although the role in the NBC comedy launched Krasinski to stardom, it appears that he accompanied him to the stage of Studio 8H, where he made his debut as a presenter. He began his opening monologue by expressing gratitude for his debut – until he was interrupted by Alex Moffat, who called Krasinski “Jim” and asked about his relationship with “Pam” (Jenna Fischer).
References to the novel go-or-don’t-want to The office continued throughout the opening monologue, with other SNL cast members asking questions about the television couple. Ego Nwodim did not ask many questions, but said, “Jim, you are different.”
“You need to stop this, Jim is soft”, Nwodim replied to the actor saying that he has been working out for Jack Ryan. “When you touch Jim, your hand comes in like memory foam.”
Plagued by other questions about Jim and Pam, Krasinski found company with Pete Davidson, who explains his cast members’ strange obsession with the couple.
“I’m sorry about that, I think everyone was impressed for a year watching The office without stopping, ”said Davidson.
When Kenan Thompson asks if Davidson is Pam, the SNL star says it’s worth giving the audience what they want – a kiss between Jim and Pam. Intrigued by the growing demands, Davidson and Krasinski kiss.
“Kiss Pam, Kiss Pam”, sing Moffat, Thompson and Nwodim.
Serving as a musical guest for the Saturday night episode was Machine Gun Kelly.
