Harbaugh talks about passion and celebration of Peters logo
After Marcus Peters made a clutch interception to help seal Sunday’s victory, the Ravens suffered a 15-yard penalty for provocation after Peters took his teammates into midfield to celebrate on the Titans logo.
It was a response to what Tennessee did in November at M&T Bank Stadium, when the Titans gathered at the Baltimore logo before the game started, a move the Ravens did not like.
Harbaugh said on Monday that he appreciates the competitiveness that Peters brings to the game, along with his framing skills.
“We have a great relationship,” said Harbaugh of Peters. “I like him and I love him. He’s genuine. He’s as authentic as possible. That’s what you appreciate in anyone. He has a heart of gold. He really cares. It shows. He’s an emotional guy, there is no doubt about it. Like all of us, he works to be the best he can be. “
Harbaugh doesn’t like penalties, but he acknowledges that the Ravens protect themselves.
“With regard to where you draw the line and everything? This is something that individual people need to learn for themselves,” said Harbaugh. “From the coach’s point of view, I’m not a big fan of penalties. We talk about it all the time. We don’t want to hurt our team, putting them 15 yards unnecessarily. This is the main thing we talked about.
“It’s a very connected team. It’s a team that really cares about each other. They have a very strong faith, and faith is the most powerful thing that exists. If that is part, it is part. We all make our choices “We all live with our choices and support them. Am I upset about it? No, I’m not upset about it. I’m looking at Bills right now and moving on. I love our boys’ hearts, I love their energy, I love their spirit, I love what they stand for, I love their characters. “
