John Dolmayan of System Of A Down spoke in defense of The Mandalorian star Gina Carano after she was fired for sharing offensive and controversial posts on social media.
The actress was fired from the Disney + show after she shared a post that compared US Republicans to Jews in Nazi Germany.
After Carano was fired, Dolmayan assessed the situation on his Instagram page. Posting a photo of the actor, he captioned the post: “It takes a lot of courage to put your career at risk for your convictions.
“The story will pay homage to people like @ginajcarano and condemn the cowards who instituted the justice ruled against them.”
In a note, Lucasfilm said Carano – who played Cara Dune in The Mandalorian – was dismissed because “her posts on social networks denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abominable and unacceptable”.
Fans of the program previously asked that she be removed from the program after she shared anti-masking tweets, baseless allegations of electoral fraud and other posts that were criticized as transphobic.
She already addressed the reaction in an interview at Drunk 3PO YouTube channel, saying that it “brings fire to people”. “I will stop here and if my presence bothers you, OK, but also many people are not bothered by my presence on Twitter or my presence on social networks.
