“I am genuinely happy for Teresa and Luis and I wish them all the best!”
Joe Giudice is opening up about meeting for the first time with his ex-wife’s boyfriend, Teresa.
Speaking to Us Weekly on Thursday, the “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star recalled being introduced to Teresa’s boyfriend, Luis “Louis” Ruelas, during a dinner in the Bahamas earlier this week.

“You can imagine how I felt when they entered the room. It was weird to see my ex after a lifetime with someone else,” said Joe, 48, who now lives in the Bahamas. “Teresa and I decided to be honest and remain friends with the girls.”
“Fatherhood should always give your children the best results for each situation,” he added. “I believe that we deserve everyone’s happiness and our children will thank us for that. I am genuinely happy for Teresa and Luis and I wish them all the best!”
On Wednesday, Joe and Teresa, 48, posted a family photo of them posing next to their daughters: Gia, 20, Gabriella, 16, Milania, 15 and Audriana, 11 at Graycliff Restaurant in Nassau, Bahamas.
“I really appreciate it and I hope to continue to be present in my life as a best friend. A great person, mother and confident individual ”, Joe wrote next to the photo, marking Teresa and Luis. “@teresagiudice @louiearuelas great to meet you and your son🍷”
Gia and Milania also accessed their stories on Instagram to share several videos of the dinner. Joe again published a screenshot of one of the clips on his Instagram profile, writing “Good night.”

Joe and Teresa’s daughters met with Joe in the Bahamas last month. Teresa and Luis, along with Luis’ children, traveled and met with them later, according to Us Weekly.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” last week, Teresa revealed that her boyfriend and ex-husband had spoken on the phone.
“They talked on the phone and Luis wanted to go to the Bahamas to meet him,” said Teresa. “Which I thought was the most amazing thing of all. Because he said he just wanted to talk to him and let him know that he’s not trying to take his place or anything. But he just wanted to [Joe] meeting him because we have daughters and I just thought it was the most beautiful thing of all. “
Teresa and Joe split in December 2019, after 20 years of marriage. The divorce was finalized in September. Teresa made Instagram official with Luis in December.
Speaking to Extra in February, Teresa shared that Joe had moved to the Bahamas to train for his boxing match. (According to TMZ last June, Joe is expected to fight Jennifer Lopez’s ex-husband, Ojani Noa.)
Before moving to the Caribbean, Joe was living in his native Italy after he was deported from the United States after his release from prison in 2019.
