The Cincinnati Bengals lost former superstar receiver AJ Green to Arizona, but they can bring in another young dynamic receiver from Detroit.
With an interest in Kenny Golladay, Cincinnati has a chance to update its reception body, then sporting the most dynamic threats from AFC North on the edge. It is certainly not a closed deal, as the New York Giants and Golladay also have mutual interests.
What could make the difference between the Bengals and the Giants for Golladay?
Joe Burrow yes.
The star quarterback looks ready to take the field after a terrible ACL break to end his debut season.
After a historic start to that season, much is expected of Burrow in Year 2, and the former LSU star reportedly did his part to attract Golladay to Queen City.
“Joe Burrow made a proposal for him,” Ian Rapoport of NFL Network said Thursday on Good Morning Football, adding that Golladay “has a very strong offer from Cincinnati Bengals”
The Bengals need Golladay, who came seventh in the league in receiving yards in his only Pro Bowl campaign in 2019. Playing just five games last season, Golladay struggled to move on and saw his Lions fall to the bottom of the NFC North.
Without Matthew Stafford, Golladay is not returning to Motor City.
Queen City may be calling your name, however, and if what Burrow said can convince the star, Bengals can move from being the worst team at AFC North to becoming one of the two best teams.
Bengals have the maximum limit for closing a deal.
Assessing Golladay’s value would be difficult, but no one would be upset if he received between $ 12 and $ 16 million. With a few more updates on the list, Bengals can be set to be one of the 2021 surprise teams.
Whatever happens, it looks like we’re not going to wait much longer for a decision, as Golladay is supposed to be visiting the Giants today.
